If yo...Thank you for reviewing the Norton grape.

If you could locate and review some Jaeger 70 (aka: Munson) wine that would be super and a great additon to understanding the Fringe-foundafions of hybrid grapes. I have seen references to several emerge on the Web making it.

Hybrids with species Labrusca have the foxy tase and smell. Characteristic of Concord and Niagra grapes. (Welches(tm) grape juice grown on the Niaga escarpment Lake Erie.

Hybrids with Aestivalis parentage have a slight smell to them ( not unpleasant) that reminds me of smokeless gunpowder. If you have ever been around folks shooting skeet/trapp or better yer reloading skeet cartages, you can recognize the smell. It is not exact bit close. Like the smell of leather and tobacco in Cab.'Franc.

Every time I have been wine tasting in the fingerlakes and point this out to the Winery server and the other visitors, those that know the smell Agee.

Thanks for listening, and forgive my typos, asI am on an I-pod touch in a coffee house using the wi-Fi.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5789758153770792359.post-79910327404665403642012-05-23T08:12:57.617-04:002012-05-23T08:12:57.617-04:00Yes, Texas can make a real Norton Wine, ~ Stone Ho...Yes, Texas can make a real Norton Wine, ~ Stone House 'Claros' in Spicewood, TX. 261 Norton wineries in 25 states (and growing). I like how Doug Frost, a Kansas City wine writer and Norton fan, describes the wine as "powerful, muscular, crazy intense in malic acid and capable of staining teeth or even wineglasses. [The wine is] probably something most drinkers have to learn to love, with its rough and rustic personality often evident. There are an increasing number of Nortons that taste modern, clean and even sleek."TNWThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08193339533202851498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5789758153770792359.post-8223599435596666312012-05-23T07:41:14.796-04:002012-05-23T07:41:14.796-04:00Hi Fringe Wine!
